Short version: The "best" Google Ads agency in the UK is not one name, it is the one that fits your category, budget, and stage. This is a working list of strong UK Google Ads and PPC agencies for 2026, organized so you can match an agency to your situation instead of chasing a vanity ranking. One disclosure before we start: this is the site of a Google Ads specialist practice, so we have an interest in this topic. We have kept ourselves out of the ranking itself and put our own pitch further down the page, clearly labelled, so you can weigh it separately.

A note on how to read any "best agencies" list, including this one. No agency is best at everything. A large London performance shop that runs eight-figure media budgets beautifully may be the wrong home for a lean Shopify store, and a two-person boutique that lives inside Merchant Center may be the wrong home for a FTSE brand. So instead of pretending there is one winner, we have grouped these by what they are actually strong at, with an honest read on who each one suits.

How we judged "best"

Before the list, the criteria. A genuinely good Google Ads agency in the UK should show most of these, whatever its size:

  • Accountable to a business metric (ROAS, profit on ad spend, revenue), not to clicks or "optimizations made."
  • Senior people on the account, not a junior running templates while the founder sells.
  • Real e-commerce depth: active management of the product feed, Shopping, and Performance Max, not "set and forget."
  • You own your account and data, with a clean exit and no heavy lock-in.
  • Transparent reporting you can actually read.

Everything below is based on each agency's own public positioning as of late 2026. We have not worked inside their client accounts, and we have deliberately avoided repeating anyone's self-reported results as fact.

What each fee band typically buys in the UK. The number that predicts results is accounts per manager, not the fee itself.

The best Google Ads agencies in the UK for 2026

1. Brainlabs (London)

One of the best known independent performance shops to come out of the UK. Brainlabs began as a paid-search specialist in London and has grown into a full-service, global media agency working with major brands across retail, finance, and B2B, with a strong testing and automation culture. If you are a large advertiser who wants serious media science, engineering, and scale under one roof, this is the tier. For a small or mid-size store, it is more agency than you need.

2. Impression (Nottingham, London, Manchester)

A large, established performance marketing agency with UK offices in Nottingham, London, and Manchester. Impression runs PPC and paid search alongside SEO, paid social, and digital PR, and works with sizeable e-commerce, B2B, and travel brands. A good fit for mid-market and enterprise companies that want paid search integrated with a broader organic and content strategy, delivered by a big multi-disciplinary team.

3. Circus PPC (Leeds)

A rarity worth noting: a genuinely PPC-only agency. Circus, based in Leeds with a London presence, has spent two decades doing nothing but paid media, spanning Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and the major shopping and social channels, for both e-commerce and service brands. If you want a specialist rather than a full-service shop, and you like the idea of a northern agency without London pricing, Circus belongs on your shortlist.

4. PPC Geeks (Cheshire and London)

Another dedicated PPC specialist, with offices across the North West and in London. PPC Geeks focuses exclusively on paid media, with visible depth in e-commerce ad management, Google Shopping, and feed work, and holds Google Premier Partner status. Their audit-led way of starting engagements makes them an easy agency to evaluate before committing. Suits stores and lead-gen businesses that want paid search to be the agency's whole job, not a department.

5. Koozai (Southampton)

A long-running digital marketing agency, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Southampton with offices in London and Preston. Koozai offers PPC alongside SEO, content, and digital PR, and has served hundreds of UK businesses from SMBs to large enterprises. A sensible option if you want an established, full-service partner on the south coast rather than a narrow paid-search boutique.

6. The SEO Works (Sheffield)

An employee-owned search agency based in Sheffield, with offices in London and Leeds. Despite the name, The SEO Works runs a substantial Google Ads and paid social practice alongside its organic work, positioning itself as an integrated search partner. A good match for businesses, particularly in the North, that want paid and organic search managed together by one accountable team.

7. ClickSlice (London)

A Shoreditch-based agency with a clear e-commerce lean, running Google Ads and Google Shopping alongside SEO for online stores. ClickSlice sits in the boutique tier: smaller and more focused than the networks above, with the trade-offs that come with that. For a growing e-commerce brand in or around London that wants direct access to the people doing the work, it is the kind of shop worth a conversation.

8. eComOne (Lincoln)

An e-commerce-only performance agency in Lincoln, working with stores on Shopify, Magento, and custom platforms across PPC, SEO, and email. The narrow focus is the appeal: everyone in the building thinks about product feeds, conversion rates, and repeat purchase, not brand campaigns. Best for established online retailers who want a specialist partner and do not need a London postcode attached to the invoice.

What Google Ads management costs in the UK

UK pricing clusters into a few recognisable patterns, and knowing them makes every proposal easier to judge:

  • Entry-level retainers sit around 500 to 750 GBP per month. At this price you are usually buying a junior's time across many accounts, with a tightly limited scope.
  • Typical specialist and mid-market retainers run from roughly 1,500 to 5,000 GBP per month, with most established agencies quoting somewhere in the 2,000 to 3,000 GBP range for full management of a serious account.
  • Percentage-of-spend models commonly land between 5 and 15 percent of monthly ad spend, usually with a minimum fee of 1,000 to 2,000 GBP.
  • London carries a premium. Equivalent service from a London agency often costs a third or more above the same work from an agency in the North, Wales, or Northern Ireland.

None of these numbers are wrong in themselves. The question is what the fee buys: how many accounts your manager carries, how senior they are, and whether feed and Shopping work is included or billed as an extra. A 3,000 GBP retainer with a senior specialist on the account is often cheaper, in real terms, than a 1,200 GBP retainer where nobody experienced ever opens it.

A different option: a remote senior specialist

Full disclosure, again: this section is about us, Improtics, and you should weigh it with that in mind.

There is a route the lists above never mention, because list articles are written by agencies about agencies: hiring a senior remote specialist directly. Improtics is a boutique Google Ads practice based in India, led by a specialist with over five years in the platform, 50+ accounts worked on, and more than $30M in managed spend, focused almost entirely on e-commerce. We already work with UK e-commerce brands, including UK stores whose accounts we have documented publicly, such as an e-bike store scaled from a brand new account and a portable power brand launched on a tight timeline.

The practical appeal is simple: you get the seniority of the person a good UK agency would put on its largest accounts, working directly in yours, at pricing well below typical UK retainers, because the cost base is different, not the skill. Time zones help rather than hurt: an India-based specialist has worked through most of the account's overnight data before a UK morning starts. We have written more about why this model has quietly become normal in why UK and US agencies outsource Google Ads work to India.

Who this fits: e-commerce and D2C brands spending roughly 3,000 to 100,000 GBP per month who want senior, hands-on management of Shopping, Performance Max, and search, and who are comfortable with a remote working relationship over calls and async updates. Who it does not fit: brands that need in-person meetings, a large multi-channel team covering social, creative, and brand, or a partner to run TV-scale media. If you are in the second group, the agencies above are honestly the better call.

If you are in the first group, the useful next step is a look at the account itself: book a free 30-minute audit call, or read how we work with e-commerce brands. If you are in the second, take the list above seriously.

Enterprise vs boutique: which "best" is your best?

The honest split most of this list falls into:

  • Large performance shops (Brainlabs, Impression): deep bench, strong process, engineering and analytics resources, built for large budgets and complex organisations. You get reliability and scale, sometimes at the cost of senior attention per account.
  • Established specialists (Circus, PPC Geeks, Koozai, The SEO Works): experienced teams, regional value, and in the case of the pure-PPC shops, real depth in the craft. The middle of the market for a reason.
  • Boutiques and independents (ClickSlice, eComOne, and remote specialists like us): senior people directly on your account, more flexibility, usually the best ratio of expertise to cost for D2C and growing e-commerce brands. The trade-off is bandwidth and breadth.

For most e-commerce brands reading this, the specialist and boutique tiers are the right answer. For large enterprises with seven-figure budgets and integrated needs, the big shops earn their fee.

What to do with this list

Do not pick from a list, including this one, on name alone. Shortlist two or three that match your size and category, then run each through the five criteria at the top and ask the uncomfortable questions: who actually runs my account day to day, how do you handle my product feed, and what does leaving look like? The right partner for your store is almost never the cheapest, and rarely the biggest, it is the one genuinely accountable to your numbers.

If you would like a straight, no-obligation read on how your current account is being managed, and where a senior remote specialist would change things, book a free call and we will show you exactly where it stands.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Google Ads agency cost in the UK?

Most UK agencies charge either a fixed monthly retainer, typically 1,500 to 5,000 GBP for full management, or a percentage of ad spend, usually 5 to 15 percent with a minimum fee. Entry-level packages around 500 to 750 GBP exist but generally buy limited, junior-led service. London agencies tend to price a third or more above comparable regional agencies for equivalent work.

Should I hire a Google Ads agency or a freelancer in the UK?

A senior freelancer or boutique specialist gives you experienced hands directly on the account and usually costs less than an agency retainer. An agency gives you bench depth, continuity if someone leaves, and more channels under one roof. The deciding question is not the label, it is whether the person making decisions in your account has real experience with your kind of business, especially Shopping and Performance Max for e-commerce. We compare the options properly in our guide to consultant vs agency vs freelancer.

How do I know if a UK agency is actually good at Google Ads?

Look past the awards wall. Ask them to walk through a real account they improved, including what was broken and what they changed. Check whether they report on revenue and profit rather than clicks, whether they can explain last month's changes in plain English, and how many accounts each manager carries. An agency that answers those four questions directly is usually a safe pair of hands regardless of its size.

What should I ask before signing with a Google Ads agency?

Ask who owns the Google Ads and Merchant Center accounts, whether you keep all historical data if you leave, what the notice period is, and exactly who will be working in your account each week. For e-commerce, add one more: how they manage the product feed, because an agency that treats the feed as someone else's job is leaving your biggest lever untouched.

Does my Google Ads agency need to be based in the UK?

No. Google Ads is the same platform everywhere, your account manager works in it remotely whether they sit in Leeds or elsewhere, and UK market knowledge is learned from your data, not from a postcode. What matters is seniority, e-commerce depth, communication in your hours, and clean account ownership. Plenty of UK brands now pair with senior remote specialists precisely because it buys more experience per pound; the honest exceptions are businesses that genuinely need in-person workshops or multi-channel brand work.
