Short version: The "best" Google Ads agency in Canada is not a single name, it is the one that fits your category, budget, and goals. This is a working list of strong Google Ads and PPC agencies across Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary for 2026, organized so you can match an agency to your situation rather than chase a vanity ranking. One disclosure before we start: this is the Improtics site, and near the end we explain the remote-specialist option we represent, plainly labelled as our own interest. The ranked list itself contains only Canadian agencies.

A quick note on how to read any "best agencies" list, including this one. No agency is best at everything. A full-service shop that runs integrated campaigns for national brands may be wrong for a lean Shopify store, and the reverse is just as true. So instead of pretending there is one winner, we have organized these by tier and noted who each one actually suits, based on how the agencies describe their own work.

How we judged "best"

Before the list, the criteria. A genuinely good Google Ads agency in Canada should show most of these, whatever its size:

  • Accountable to a business metric (ROAS, profit on ad spend, revenue, cost per acquisition), not to clicks or "optimizations made."
  • Senior people on the account, not a junior running templates while the founder sells.
  • Real e-commerce depth where it matters: active management of the product feed, Shopping, and Performance Max, not "set and forget."
  • You own your account and data, with a clean exit and no heavy lock-in.
  • Transparent reporting you can actually read, in dollars, not dashboards.

Every agency below is real, currently operating, and describes itself roughly the way we summarize it here. We have no commercial relationship with any of them.

What each fee band typically buys in Canada. The number that predicts results is accounts per manager, not the fee itself.

The best Google Ads agencies in Canada for 2026

1. Major Tom (Vancouver, Toronto)

A full-service digital agency with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, and New York, and roots in the Canadian market going back to 2000. Paid media sits alongside SEO, strategy, content, and web development, so campaigns run as part of an integrated program rather than in a silo. Best for mid-size and larger brands that want paid search, social, and creative handled under one roof; likely more agency than a small store needs.

2. Search Engine People (Toronto)

Founded in 2001, Search Engine People is one of Canada's longest-running search marketing firms and a Google Premier Partner, offering paid search alongside SEO, content, and analytics from its Toronto headquarters. Two decades of continuity is rare in this industry and it shows in the breadth of the client base. A solid choice for businesses that want an established, full-service search shop with process and bench depth.

3. Page Zero Media (Toronto)

A Toronto performance agency that describes itself as Google-Ads-first since its beginning, with client relationships that have run for over a decade. The focus is squarely on paid search ROI, with full-funnel and consulting services built around it rather than the other way round. A strong fit for brands that want deep paid-search specialization from a veteran team instead of a generalist menu.

4. Marwick Marketing (Vancouver)

A British Columbia agency that leads with its Google Partner credentials and runs PPC across Google, Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn, plus SEO and web services, from Vancouver with a second office in the UK. The positioning is growth partner for small and mid-size businesses rather than enterprise media shop. A practical option for Western Canadian brands that want a certified, accountable partner nearby.

5. Konstruct Digital (Calgary)

A Calgary-headquartered B2B marketing agency that pairs paid advertising with SEO, content, and account-based marketing, and talks about results in pipeline and deal terms rather than traffic. The industry focus is manufacturing, industrial, logistics, and B2B software. If you sell to other businesses with a long sales cycle, this is the kind of specialist to shortlist; if you run an online store, it is the wrong specialism, which is exactly the point of matching by fit.

6. Rablab (Montreal)

A Montreal SEM specialist offering Google Ads management, audits, and Merchant Center work in both English and French, with case studies from recognizable national brands. Bilingual campaign capability is not a nice-to-have in Quebec, it is table stakes, and few agencies outside the province do it natively. Best for brands that need the Canadian market covered in both languages.

7. Webtmize (Montreal)

A Montreal performance marketing agency built around e-commerce and SaaS, combining paid search, paid social, and programmatic with Shopify development and a data and reporting practice. The client roster includes well-known Canadian retail names, which tells you the shop is comfortable at meaningful spend levels. A good fit for online stores that want performance media and store-side work from the same team.

8. Pro Marketer (Toronto)

A Toronto e-commerce boutique that positions itself around Shopify, with media buying on Google and Meta sitting next to conversion rate optimization and email marketing. This is the store-operator end of the market: smaller team, narrower focus, everything oriented around D2C revenue. Best for growing Shopify brands that want a hands-on growth partner; the trade-off, as with any boutique, is bandwidth rather than skill.

What Google Ads management costs in Canada

Canadian agency pricing follows two familiar models: a percentage of ad spend, typically 10 to 20 percent for managed accounts, or a flat monthly retainer. Market norms in 2026 look roughly like this:

  • Smaller accounts: flat retainers commonly run from about CAD $500 to $2,500 per month, on top of the ad budget itself.
  • Mid-market accounts: management fees of roughly CAD $1,500 to $4,000 per month are typical, and many established agencies set monthly minimums somewhere between $750 and $3,500.
  • Larger and enterprise accounts: percentage-of-spend pricing takes over, and full-service shops often have project or engagement minimums well above these ranges.

Two things matter more than the sticker price. First, what the fee buys: how many accounts your manager carries, and whether feed, Shopping, and Performance Max work is included or billed separately. Second, proportion: a CAD $2,000 management fee on $3,000 of monthly spend is a 65 percent overhead, which is very hard to earn back. That mismatch, more than agency quality, is why many smaller Canadian stores feel Google Ads "does not work" for them.

A different option: a remote senior specialist

Full disclosure, again: this is our site, so weigh this section accordingly. Improtics is not a Canadian agency and does not belong in the list above. It is a different category: a senior, India-based Google Ads specialist (over five years, 50+ accounts, $30M+ in managed spend) working directly with e-commerce brands in Canada, the US, the UK, and Australia, at pricing well below local retainer norms. The work is the same work described in the criteria section, feed quality, Shopping and Performance Max structure, and disciplined scaling at a held ROAS, done by the senior person you actually talk to.

Who this fits: D2C and Shopify brands whose ad spend does not yet justify a CAD $2,000-plus local retainer, and stores of any size that specifically want senior hands on the account instead of a junior at a larger shop. Who it does not fit: businesses that need in-person meetings, and brands that want a full multi-channel team handling social, creative, and SEO alongside the ads. The trade-offs cut both ways, which is why we wrote a separate piece comparing a consultant, an agency, and a freelancer honestly. If the e-commerce specialist model sounds relevant, our e-commerce page explains exactly how we work.

If that shape fits, book a free 30-minute audit call and we will look at your account before anyone talks about scope, or read how we work with e-commerce brands. If it does not, the Canadian agencies above are the better call.

Enterprise vs boutique: which "best" is your best?

The honest split most of these fall into:

  • Full-service and established shops (Major Tom, Search Engine People): deep bench, strong process, integrated channels, built for larger budgets and more complex organizations. You get reliability and scale, sometimes at the cost of senior attention per account.
  • Specialists (Page Zero, Marwick, Konstruct, Rablab): narrower and deeper. The right one for your category will usually outperform a generalist; the wrong specialism is a mismatch no amount of effort fixes.
  • E-commerce boutiques (Webtmize, Pro Marketer, and the remote-specialist option above): senior people closer to your account, more flexible, usually better value for D2C and growing stores. The trade-off is smaller teams and less brand-side breadth.

For most e-commerce and D2C brands reading this, the specialist and boutique tiers are the right answer. For large organizations with integrated needs, the full-service shops earn their fee.

What to do with this list

Do not pick from a list, including this one, on name alone. Shortlist two or three that match your size and category, then run each through the five criteria above and ask the hard questions about who runs your account day to day, how they handle your feed, and what leaving looks like. Our guide on how to hire a Google Ads agency for e-commerce turns those questions into a full checklist. The right partner for your store is almost never the cheapest, and rarely the biggest, it is the one genuinely accountable to your numbers.

If you want a straight, no-obligation read on whether your current account is being managed well or quietly wasting spend, book a free audit call and we will show you exactly where it stands, whoever you end up hiring.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Google Ads agency charge in Canada?

Most Canadian agencies charge either a flat monthly retainer or 10 to 20 percent of ad spend. Flat retainers commonly run CAD $500 to $2,500 per month for smaller accounts and CAD $1,500 to $4,000 for mid-market ones, with many agencies setting minimums between $750 and $3,500. The number matters less than the proportion: keep total management cost well under a third of your ad budget, or the math rarely works.

Should I hire a Google Ads agency or a freelancer in Canada?

An agency gives you bench depth, process, and continuity cover if someone leaves. A freelancer or independent specialist gives you senior hands directly on the account, usually at a lower cost. For a growing e-commerce brand, the deciding question is not the label, it is whether the person actually making decisions in your account has real experience with Shopping, feeds, and Performance Max.

How do I know if my Google Ads agency is doing a good job?

Look for three things: they report on revenue, ROAS, or profit rather than clicks, they can explain what changed in the account last month and why, and they raise problems before you notice them. It also helps to know what a healthy target looks like for your margins; our piece on what counts as a good ROAS gives you the benchmark to hold them to.

What should I ask before signing with a Google Ads agency?

Ask how many accounts the person managing yours also manages, who owns the Google Ads and Merchant Center accounts, whether you keep the historical data if you leave, and what the notice period is. Ask them to walk through a real account they turned around, including what was broken and what they changed. Vague answers to any of these tell you more than a polished pitch deck.

Does my Google Ads agency need to be in Canada?

Not technically, no. Google Ads is managed entirely online, and a remote specialist can run a Canadian account as well as a local one, often at a much lower cost. Where local matters: bilingual campaigns for Quebec, in-person workshops, and category knowledge of the Canadian market. Where it does not: the day-to-day mechanics of feeds, bidding, and structure. Weigh which of those your business actually needs before paying a local premium for work that happens in a browser either way.
